The Stangard Process
Brenntag developed the STANGARD FRESH AIR PROCESS for the application of Sprout Nip resulting in sprout inhibition. This process consists of new equipment that uses a proprietary heat exchanger for vaporizing the Sprout Nip, eliminating the introduction of combustion gases into the storage facility – thus, our use of the phrase STANGARD FRESH AIR FOGGING PROCESS. By using variable speed drive (VSD) units on the circulation fans and plenum dispersion tools in the building’s ventilation system, the STANGARD PROCESS significantly improves the dispersion of Sprout Nip within the storage facility. Sufficient product is applied to achieve Sprout Nip deposits which produce long-term sprout control.
Brenntag continues to support ongoing research with our STANGARD FRESH AIR PROCESS. Current research is underway which will introduce re-circulation of storage air through our Stangard units, reducing the need to pressurize storage facilities. This new research will significantly reduce the need to introduce foreign materials such as fiberglass, wood or nails typically used today to seal storages.
