Environmental Health & Safety Philosophy
Brenntag Canada Inc. will conduct its business in a responsible manner designed to provide protection and minimal impact on the environment, health and safety of employees, customers and the public.
Brenntag will construct and operate facilities in compliance with applicable federal, provincial and municipal regulations and ensure that protection of the environment is the responsibility of all employees. Brenntag will operate in compliance with the ISO 14001 Environmental, Health and Safety Management System and the Canadian Association of Chemical Distributors’ Responsible Distribution? Code of Practice.
The company will prevent uncontrolled releases by having effective operating procedures, spill containment facilities, and management systems. Brenntag will maintain an emergency response capability to react promptly and effectively in the event of any abnormal operating conditions or discharges to the environment. Brenntag will reduce waste and minimize consumption of natural resources through effective facility design, operational process control and staff training.
Brenntag will continuously improve all aspects of its business and will establish objectives and targets for improvement in environmental, health and safety performance through the application of technology, resources and best operating practices.
Management is responsible for providing a safe and healthy work environment for employees by controlling hazards through the use of well-designed processes, equipment and training. Management will inform employees of known hazards and develop effective systems for protecting the health and safety of employees.
Employees are responsible to work and act safely at all times in a manner that will prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, injuries and environmental pollution.
Brenntag Canada’s Environmental, Health and Safety Policy will be posted at each facility and made available to all interested parties.
